2/3 a waste so far...

2/3 a waste so far...

So with the pregnant one and Teixeira playing in their first game yesterday as Yankees, fans were watching to see how their new acquisitions performed. CC you ask? He went 4.1 innings, giving up 8 hits, 6ER, 5BB, 0K. Teixeira went 0 -4 with one walk and grounded out when he was up with two on and two out with the Yankees down one in the 8th. Because we know one game out of a 162 game season tells you everything you need to know, lets check in on how the other big signings from the offseason did on their first day.

Derek Lowe (4 years, 60M) – 8 IP, 2H, 0R, 0BB, 4K

Manny Ramirez (2 years, 45M) – 0 for 3, BB, R

Adam Dunn (2 years, 20M ) – 2 for 4, 4 RBI

Bobby Abreu (1 year, 5M) – 1 for 4, 2K

Ken Griffey Jr.(1 year, 2M) – 1 for 3, HR

Raul Ibanez (3 yrs, 30M) – o for 4, K

Even though Tex had a rough day at the plate he sure can pick it at first. He made plays that Giambi might not have. CC didnt have his good fastball today that will happen probably 2 or 3 times over the course of a season. Keep an Eye on the Braves they are the sleeper this year. I have full predictions over on my site. check it out. http://betweenthepoles.wordpress.com

On the plus side for NY fans, CC’s arm didn’t just fall off at the shoulder during his first outing. That was a possible outcome after the way the tribe and especially the brew crew used him last year. He was pitching complete games every third day for the last month of the season.

PS. this outing will happen probably 2 or 3 times over the course of a playoff series.

And the winner is … Spain
